Bengaluru: A three-day state Legislative session is slated to begin tomorrow, October 10. Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has appointed Kota Srinivas Poojari as the ruling party leader in the state Legislative Council.
It is expected that the Opposition parties will use this opportunity to criticize the government on the delayed flood relief works and the recent farmer suicides.
A senior MLA from the BJP said that the state government is confident of facing the onslaught of the Opposition as the Central Government has released an interim relief for the flood victims. "There is a demand to extend the session to two weeks," he added.
Meanwhile, sources say that the Congress may not announce their Opposition leader immediately. "This means that there will not be any Opposition leader both in the Assembly and the Council for this session. It is an advantage for the ruling party," said a Congress leader.
