Bengaluru: As the news of the demise of Ananth Kumar broke, thousands of BJP activists, leaders and the VIPs started rushing to Bengaluru to pay their last respect to the departed soul.
Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, who is staying in a private resort in HD Kote, Mysuru, left the resort early this morning.
“He was informed about the death at around 6 AM. Immediately, he cancelled all his plans and left to Bengaluru,” said the CMO sources.
Former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has left from Hubballi with his family members. Considered as the close friend of Ananth Kumar, Shettar is accompanied by his wife and daughter. Before leaving Hubballi, Shettar informed that he is in a state of shock and doesn’t know how to react.
Former CM B S Yeddyurappa is reaching Bengaluru from Bidar in a special helicopter. He will oversee the final rites and procession.
BJP leaders are meeting at the party office in Malleshwaram over the formalities to be followed.
