Bengaluru: The Veterinary Medical College premises in Hebbal was host to a get together of dogs, domestic as well as international breeds on Saturday, February 3. While the mammoth canines left viewers spell-bound the smaller ones stood apart with their cuteness.
The canine competition, organized by the silicon City Cannel Club (Mysuru Cannel Club) provided dog lovers an opportunity to view over 275 dogs of various breeds. The competition was based on swiftness, behavior and how the canine’s follow their owner’s order.
When the specially decorated canines walked with primness in front of the judges, the onlookers welcomed them with heavy claps. The owners of dogs that were appreciated were on cloud nine while few whose dogs failed to win any prize walked back with a pale face.
Rakhia, a three-year-old Mudhol hound of Basavaraj of Mudhol taluk won ‘Best in show’ and ‘Best breed’ awards. Both awards contained Rs.5,000 of cash and certificate. Meanwhile, consumers thronged to purchase canine decorative items, dog belts, food, medicine etc.
