Bengaluru: Revenue minister R Ashok who is now CM BS Yediyurappa’s pointsman on COVID 19 management for Bengaluru, has asked Bengaluru residents who want to leave for other districts to leave today itself if they want to.

“We need to break the chain of COVID 19. So, a week-long lockdown is a must. It will be very strict. Those who want to go their native places can leave the city on Monday. That is the reason why we have provided the two days window period,” he stated.

He also said essential services will be available during the lockdown.

“In the city, there is no problem for COVID 19 care. The issues are with beds for serious patients. We have asked the private hospitals to be generous and treat the patients with humanity at the time of billing,” he said.

He also informed that if the COVID 19 does not come under control, the state government may extend the lockdown period. ” A decision will be taken after consulting experts,” he said.
