Those enjoying power because of us have not come to help me: MLC AH Vishwanath

Mysuru: Close on the heels of the Karnataka High Court disqualifying him from becoming a Minister in the state cabinet, MLC AH Vishwanath has expressed his disappointment over the ruling BJP government at the state.

“The ones who are enjoying power due to our sacrifices have not come forth to help me. I am not waiting for the ministerial berth. I have never taken politics as a business venture, instead I have always considered politics a means to fight for the cause of the people. My people know my worth and have seen me perform as a minister,” said Vishwanath adding that the first list sent to the Core Committee in June for Legislative Council membership had his name in it, however, when the list came back his name was dropped.

Commenting on the High Court order, he said that the order is restricted only to ministership, while his position as an MLC is safe intact.

“I will contest the order of the HC before the Supreme Court,” he said adding that the Sangh Parivar has helped him a lot during his low, however, when the fight began at the court not many helped him.

However, he said that leaders like Ramesh Jarakiholi, R Ashok, ST Somashekar and other have communicated with him after the court order came.
