Bengaluru: Thieves stealing valuables is a common thing, but the Indiranagar police are investigating an interesting case after a retired professor of History lodged a complaint of theft of 2,500 books from his home.

In his complaint to the police, Shrinivas, 82 years, a resident of HAL second stage and a retired professor of history alleged that on Friday he had kept his book collections in the balcony while cleaning the house. “But when all the family members were cleaning inside the home, thieves fled with the books,” he informed the police.

Srinivas who worked in different colleges as the faculty of history informed that many of these books are not in print now.

Police suspected the role of old paper sellers who visit the neighbourhood. They have decided to collect CCTV footage of all the nearby roads to track the culprit.
