Bengaluru: A few hours after the government was able to secure environment clearance, tenders are invited for the controversial elevated corridor project in the city. The Karnataka Road Development Corporation (KRDCL) floated tenders for the implementation of phase 1 under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) module.
According to the tender notification, the 22.12-km North-South Corridor between Baptist Hospital on Ballari Road and Silk Board junction will be taken up in phase 1. The estimated cost of the project is ?5,060.71 crores.
According to the authorities, the total stretch of the project will be 102 kilometres. Seven corridors are proposed under the scheme. The total project cost is expected to go above Rs.25,000 crores.
As per the tender notification, the project must be completed within three years and the construction company must maintain the corridor for the first ten years.
