Bengaluru: A software engineer was caught by Central Industry Security Force (CISF) officials for allegedly printing a fabricated ticket to gain entry into the terminal building of Kempegowda International Airport on Friday.

According to police sources, the accused, Amit Kumar, who works for a multinational company in the city, hails from Kolkata.

On Friday around 6.40 a.m., Amit entered the Passenger Terminal building by allegedly showing a fabricated ticket which said he was travelling from Bengaluru to Kolkata. He was caught when he tried to exit the building through the exit/entry for airlines staff. When CISF officials took him into custody for questioning, he told them that his wife and four-month-old baby were flying to Kolkata. His wife had too much luggage to carry with her. In order to help her, he edited the ticket, added his name to the list of passengers and entered the building showing the fabricated ticket. Amit had shifted to Bengaluru six months ago.

Later, CISF officials registered a case against him with the Bengaluru International Airport police. The police have registered case under IPC sections 420, 465 and 471. The accused has been remanded in judicial custody.
