Bengaluru: Taiwan’s leading developer Century Development Corporation (CDC) has offered to build an industrial park near the international airport on the city’s northern outskirts, an official statement said on Wednesday.

“The offer was made by CDC Chairman Theodre Huang and Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in India head Chung Kwang to Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy at a meeting here,” said the statement.

The industrial park is aimed at attracting investment from the South East Asia countries, including China and Japan in industries related to robotics, aerobics, hardware, e-commerce and science & technology.

“The Taiwanese industrial park near the city airport will spur investments from its players and their counterparts in the region,” Kumaraswamy said on the occasion.

State Minister for Industries K.J. George, who was present on the occasion, said as the southern state was in the forefront of technology, the government would extend support to the industrial park.

Details of the park size, value of the prime land, how much investment is expected by the Taiwanese developer, how many firms will have production units, their job potential and export quantum were not given in the statement.
