Bengaluru: It seems there is no agreement or consensus among the family members of journalist and activist late Gauri Lankesh over the move to launch a tabloid in Gauri’s name.
Gauri’s mother Indira Lankesh procured an injunction order restraining anybody from using her name for a paper.
On Saturday, however, her sister Kavitha Lankesh has not only opposed the injunction by her mother but also openly supported the proposed tabloid.
This comes in the wake of a group of activists and friends of Gauri working towards ensuring that her death was not in vain by starting a tabloid, Namma Gauri and forming a Trust that will institute an award for journalists.
It was said Indira Lankesh had no objections to the formation of a Trust but the injunction was for naming the paper after Gauri Lankesh with prefix or suffix to the word.
Gauri Lankesh was shot dead outside her residence in Bengaluru on September 5.
