Bengaluru: The sudden surge in cases of H1N1, dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases has forced the state government to give more importance to cleanliness in both the rural and urban areas of the state. The state government has decided to launch ‘Swachh Mev Jayate’ campaign on June 11 in order to create awareness among the general public. This campaign will be carried out in each village of the state.
The state health department has been asked to organise this event. According to the authorities, under the initiative, all the schools across the state will be roped in to create awareness about the importance of personal hygiene and village level cleanliness.
Schools teachers, ASHA activists and NGOs will also be hired to create awareness. “We have asked for events to be held at every grama panchayat level to create awareness,” the authorities informed.
