Bengaluru: Former Union minister and senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal stated that need of the hour is a surgical strike against social inequality, poverty etc. “But instead of resolving these issues, the central government has taken up the bullet train project, which is of no use to the poor,” he said.
Speaking at the KPCC office in the city on Thursday, April 4, he stated that the NDA government’s policy took the country back by decades.
He also said that the Congress is committed to implementing its manifesto if voted to power. “We are not like the NDA government which has failed to keep its promises. We will implement all the assurances in a time-bound manner,” he said.
He also expressed confidence of the UPA returning to power in the Lok Sabha election. “The people will vote for a pro-people government, not a government for the rich,” he said.
