Bengaluru: The state government has decided to introduce anti-superstition bill in the forthcoming winter session of the state legislature.
State law and parliamentary affairs minister T B Jayachandra informed that more than 150 progressive pontiffs had submitted a draft proposal in this regard. This proposal was sent to Justice Shivaraj Patil, former judge of the Supreme Court seeking his viewpoint. “We had even invited objections. But as no one raised objections we are soon going to prepare the final bill, which will be presented in the state cabinet for the final approval,” he said.
“It is not possible to root out blind beliefs through any law. But we need to do something to discourage the ones who spread such beliefs, ” he said.
