State reports biggest single-day spike with 2313 new cases, 57 deaths

Bengaluru: Karnataka reported the highest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases on Friday, July 10, with 2,313 fresh infections. Additionally, 57 people in the state succumbed due to the disease, according to the health department’s daily bulletin.

This takes the total number of confirmed infections in the state to 33,418 and death toll to 543. On a positive note, 10,03 people were discharged today.

According to the bulletin, the infections have been reported from Bengaluru Urban (1447), Dakshina Kannada (139), Vijayapura (89), Ballari (66), Kalaburagi (58), Yadagir (51), Mysuru (51), Dharwad (50), Haveri (42), Udupi (34), Uttara Kannada (33), Mandya (31), Raichur (25), Ramanagar (23), Davanagere (21), Bidar (19), Gadag (19), Belagavi (15), Chikkaballapura (12), Tumakuru (10), Kolar (9), Chamarajanagar (9), Koppal (7), Hassan (6), Shivamogga (6), Bagalkot (6), Bengaluru Rural (1), and Chikkamagaluru (1).

The state, as of July 10, has 19,035 active cases. As many as 472 are being treated in the ICU across the state.
