State reports 3,693 cases, 115 deaths; COVID tally now 55,115, death toll 1,147

Bengaluru: The state reported 3,693 new COVID-19 cases and 115 deaths on Friday, July 17. This brings the total number of confirmed novel coronavirus infections to 55,115 and death toll to 1,147.

Bengaluru Urban reported 2,208 cases and Dharwad reported 157 new infections. Ballari reported 133 new cases.

While 1,028 people were discharged after making a full recovery from the disease today, 568 people are being treated in ICUs across the state.

The breakup of the fresh cases are: Vijayapura (118), Belagavi (95), Mysuru (93), Kalaburagi (89), Udupi (80), Uttara Kannada (75), Bidar (69), Gadag (59), Haveri (58), Kolara (51), Dakshina Kannada (39)*, Tumakuru (36), Raichuru (33), Bengaluru Rural (33), Davanagere (31), Chikkaballapura (31), Koppala (30), Bagalakote (29), Chikkamagaluru (28), Chitradurga (24), Mandya (22), Hassana (21), Ramanagara (14), Kodagu (13), Shivamogga (10), Chamarajanagara (10), and Yadagiri (4).

There are 33,205 active COVID-19 cases in the state. So far, a total of 20,757 have been discharged. Additionally, six people have died of non-COVID causes.

*Total of 311 cases as per the Dakshina Kannada district bulletin.
