Bengaluru: Karnataka reported a record 5,483 new COVID-19 cases and 84 deaths on Friday, July 31. This brings the total number of confirmed novel coronavirus infections to 1,24,115 and death toll to 2,314.
Bengaluru Urban alone reported 2,220 cases and Ballari reported 340 new infections. Belagavi reported 217 new cases.
While 3,130 people were discharged after making a full recovery from the disease today, 609 people are being treated in ICUs across the state.
The breakup of the fresh cases are: Udupi (213), Dakshina Kannada (204), Mysuru (204), Dharwad (180), Shivamogga (158), Kalaburagi (144), Davanagere (122), Raichuru (119), Vijayapura (118), Bengaluru Rural (105), Bidar (104), Hassan (100), Tumakuru (95), Uttara Kannada (92), Gadag (92), Ramanagara (89), Bagalakote (88), Chikkamagaluru (74), Mandya (65), Haveri (57), Yadagiri (56), Chikkaballapura (48), Chamarajanagara (44), Koppala (38), Chitradurga (35), Kolar (32), and Kodagu (30).
There are 72,005 active COVID-19 cases in the state. So far, a total of 49,788 have been discharged. Additionally, eight people have died of non-COVID causes.
