Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has handed over the murder case of Dharwad Zilla Panchayat member and BJP leader Yogesh Gowda to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Gowda was a close associate of Union Minister Prahlad Joshi. He was murdered on June 15 2016, and all six of the accused were arrested by the police within 48 hours.
Gowda’s kin (as well as Joshi) has alleged that the mastermind behind the murder was a former minister in the Siddaramaiah government.
However, police have denied the involvement of this individual in the murder case.
