Bengaluru: Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy announced free laptop for all the degree students. All these years only SC/ST students were given a free laptop.
Addressing at an event at Maharani’s college in Mysuru, CM HDK announced that the government is committed towards ensuring that each and every student receive computer education and hence the earlier programme that provide a laptop to only a section of students has been made more inclusive.
He also announced that the state government will release Rs.1,000 crores towards the development of all the degree colleges of the state. “We are trying to approach more companies to extend support to the government institutes under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative,” he said.
