Bengaluru: After the phone taping case, the state government is now likely to hand over the IMA scam case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as well. This move is expected to spell more troubles for the leaders of the opposition parties and a few senior officials.
According to sources, IMA founder and MD Mansoor Khan had, during his interrogation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and Enforcement Directorate (ED), revealed that he paid a bribe of over Rs 25 crores to officials from various state and central agencies. As the SIT formed by the state government has no jurisdiction over Central government officers, the state government likely to hand over the case to the CBI.
“A decision in this regard is likely to be taken in a day or two,” informed sources in the Chief Minister’s Office.
