Bengaluru: The State Government has further slashed the Covid 19 test rates As per the revised order RTPCR test will cost just 1,200. For government referred samples, labs can charge just Rs.800/ max.

In April, the RTPCR test was priced at Rs.4,000. Now with this test facility widely available, the government slashed the rates. For sample collection from home to a government lab or private lab, only Rs.400 can be charged.

For the Tru Nat test, the government fixed Rs.2,200 as the charges that can be levied. For the CB NAAT test, the government fixed Rs.3,800 as the charges that can be levied. For Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), a rate of Rs.500 per test has been fixed by the government.

This comes as a big relief for the Covid 19 patients who were struggling to foot the bill for testing in case of suspicion that they had contracted the Covid19 Virus.
