State government mulls new law prohibiting people above 60 years from visiting public

Bengaluru: With the idea of ensuring that people above 60 years of age are not infected by COVID 19, the state government is planning a new law prohibiting their visits to public places. This law will be in place till the end of this pandemic.

Medical education minister Dr. K Sudhakar proposed this new legislation. “Senior citizens with comorbidities will be taken care of through this new act,” he said.

“According to the data, among the COVID 19 casualties, people with comorbidities are more in number. So, this new law has been proposed,” he said.

He also informed that the state COVID 19 testing capacity will be increased to 30,000 per day
