Bengaluru: Amid rumors of change of guard in the state, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has made a move to strengthen his position.
With an idea of strengthening his command over the dominant and decisive Lingayat community, the CM has made a recommendation to the central government to include the community in the OBC list.
Cabinet meeting is scheduled today, but it is said that senior ministers including Ramesh Jarakiholi, R Ashok among others will give the meeting a skip.
According to the sources, the CM is expected to make a grand announcement in this regard after the cabinet meeting. It is considered as his last ditch effort to retain his chair.
There are talks that BSY may lose his post by year end as the party high command wants him to resign.
If sources are to be believed then it is said that BSY will be replaced by Govind Karjol and BSY’s son BY Vijayendra will be made Deputy CM.
