Bengaluru: In a big relief to the 12 newly-elected MLAs, who had quit the JD(S) and Congress parties to join BJP and become ministers, the BJP national leadership has given permission to CM BS Yediyurappa to expand his cabinet. According to sources, the expansion will be carried out on January 29.
BSY was informed about the party decision by the BJP National General Secretary BL Santosh, who met the Chief Minister on Saturday, January 25 evening.
Santosh reportedly told BSY that the latter has been given a free hand to pick or drop any ministers, except those who have been loyal to the party and RSS.
“BSY has been given a free hand,” confirmed a source privy to the developments.
According to sources, BSY has also been given the freedom to fill the posts of chairmen for various boards and corporations, keeping in mind the party’s interest.
