Speculations galore as Jarkhiholi-Siddu meeting ends abruptly

Bengaluru: An attempt by former chief minister Siddaramaiah to pacify the warring Jarkhiholi faction has reportedly met failure with Ramesh Jarkhiholi leaving the meeting halfway through, on Monday evening.

Several speculations are being made to analyse the meeting and it is now learnt that Jarkhiloi’s adamance to have upper hand in nomination to Legislative Council, Boards and Authority and unreasonable demands around the cabinet expansion turned the meeting into a complete failure.

As per a source, Jarkhiholi told Siddaramaiah that while he has an offer by the BJP to adorn the post of the Deputy CM, he expects Congress too to make the same offer to him if the party wants him to stay.

Siddaramaiah is said to have told Ramesh Jarkhiholi to not make any hasty decision, but instead, wait for the state leadership to discuss the matter with the high command.

It is also said that Ramesh Jarkhiholi raised the objection to the supremacy of DK Shivakumar and stated that the Ahinda leaders are being neglected. “Only the CM, DCM and DKShi are reaping benefits of this government,” he is believed to have told Siddaramaiah adding that at least the BJP would ensure that a person hailing from Ahinda background becomes the DCM.

The meeting reportedly ended abruptly at this juncture when Siddaramaiah refused to agree with the argument.
All in all, there is no clarity on the minutes of this meeting that was held at ‘Kaveri’, the residence of Siddaramaiah, but it is evident that things did not go the way the Congress expected it to go.

However, it is also said that the Jarkhiholi brothers will be meeting the Congress high command on Tuesday. They are also expected to meet AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi.
