Speaker Ramesh Kumar files affidavit with SC on rebel coalition MLAs

Bengaluru: As there seems to be no end to the Karnataka political crisis for the time being,  Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar has knocked the doors of the Supreme Court with an affidavit against the resignation of over 13 rebel Congress-Janata Dal (S) state coalition MLAs, here on Saturday, July 13.

In the affidavit, he has mentioned that the rebel MLAs who were ordered by the Apex Court on July 11 to meet the speaker by 6 PM on the same day, had met him and tendered their resignations.

Speaker Ramesh Kumar has given the video footage of the proceedings in the rebel MLAs’ meeting with him on July 11. 

The affidavit also consists of matters pertaining to resignations of rebel MLAs as well as disqualifying them as legislators by imposing whip.
