Bengaluru: Six police officers from the state including Anuchet, Investigation Officer (IO) in the Gauri Lankesh murder case have been selected for the Union Home Minister’s medal for excellence in the investigation.
Anuchet was the Rajarajeshwarinagar ACP when Gauri was murdered in front of her apartment and the IO in the investigation.
Other police officers who are selected for the award include DySP T Rangappa and GC Raju who were both the part of the Anucheth team in the Gauri murder case investigation.
K Ravishankar and S Jahnavi who unearthed a human trafficking case were also selected for the award. They were part of CID’s anti-human trafficking cell. BS Satish, who investigated a sexual assault case in Malur town of Kolar district has also been selected for the award.
