Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the murder of journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh, has nabbed the 17th accused in the case. This time, the arrested accused is a mechanic who has been charged with supplying the bike to the others accused in the case.
The arrested accused has been identified as Vasudeva Suryavamshi, a mechanic from Maharastra.
“The others accused in the case had used the code word ‘mechanic’ for Suryavamshi. He was initially arrested by the CBI recently in connection with the Dabholkar murder case. The SIT, after collecting sufficient evidence of his involvement in the Lankesh murder, took him into custody after obtaining a body warrant,” the authorities informed.
“He is the one who supplied the Pulsar bike to the murderers to carry out the assassination bid,” they added.
