Bengaluru: All India Congress Committee interim president Sonia Gandhi has selected former chief minister Siddaramaiah as the leader of the of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly. S R Patil will be the Opposition party leader in the Legislative Council.
The decision was announced by AICC general secretary K C Venugopal on Wednesday, October 9.
It can be recalled that a section of Congress leaders opposed Siddaramaiah as the Opposition leader. They were, instead, pitching for H K Patil or former deputy chief minister Dr G Parameshwar.
The Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council will begin tomorrow at the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru.
