Bengaluru: About 25 years ago, when there was barely any awareness of eye donation, it was Dr Rajkumar who created a new trend by pledging his eyes. His decision influenced thousands of his fans, who also made a pledge to donate their eyes. Now, his three children are all set to create another trend.
Shivrajkumar, the eldest son of Dr Raj, is playing the role of a blind man in his upcoming film “Kavacha”.
After learning the difficulties faced by the blind, Shivanna decided to donate his eyes along with his body after his death. He also stated that his two brothers have also come forward to donate both their eyes and bodies after death.
This announcement made by Shivanna at an event is expected to influence thousands of his fans, which may help government-run medical colleges ensure enough number of bodies for educational purposes.
