Bengaluru: In a big setback to the former CM H.D. Kumaraswamy and former minister S.R. Mahesh, a majority of their candidates lost in the Mysuru District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Limited (MYMUL) directors’ election, the result of which was announced on Tuesday, March 16 night.
Out of 15 seats, only in three places, JD(S) supported candidates won. In rest of the 12 seats are wrested by former minister G.T. Devegowda supporters.
Even though G.T. Devegowda also belongs to JD(S) he has now developed differences with H.D. Kumaraswamy and S.R. Mahesh. To defeat GTD supporters, Kumaraswamy himself camped at Mysuru for three days and visited numerous villages seeking votes.
Madhu Chandra, a relative of former minister H.D. Revanna also lost in the election.
GTD panel candidates were supported by BJP and a Congress faction loyal to former C.M. Siddaramaiah.
