Bengaluru: Senior IPS officer RP Sharma, who was injured in a misfiring while clearing his service revolver is reportedly recovering in a city hospital.
Sources informed that Sharma is able to speak and is responding to the treatment well.
“Apart from this injury, he had also undergone a surgery recently. Hence he is not able to speak much,” said police sources.
A case has not been registered as Sharma told the police that it was a clear case of misfiring and finds no foul play in the same.
However, despite recording the statement, Kothanur police continued the investigation.
The misfiring incident took place on Wednesday evening around 4.30 pm at his residence in Kothanur, in which 59-year-old Sharma sustained two bullet injuries.
