Mangaluru: The sea erosion in the district has intensified as the monsoon rains have progressed. The rough and powerful waves from the sea entered into many houses in Ullal here on Monday, July 16.
According to sources, as many as 15 houses were inundated in seawater at Kilieriya and Kaiko localities at Ullal. The houses close to the sea were badly damaged. So far the inward moving sea has damaged nearly 35 houses in the coastal district.
Tahsildar of the area, Guruprasad visited the spot and took stock of the damage caused due to the advancing sea.
