SC stays firm on not letting Janardhan Reddy enter Ballary

Bengaluru: The Supreme Court denied permission to former minister Gali Janardhana Reddy to visit his home district Ballary.

Gali Janardhana Reddy had sought relaxation from blanket court ban on his visit to Ballary district which is one of the conditions put forth by the court while granting him bail in 2015. Arguing on behalf of Reddy, former attorney general Mukul Rohatgi said that Reddy was following all the bail conditions without fail and requested the court to grant him permission to visit Ballary, which is his home city.

But CBI counsel opposed the plea stating that ban on Reddy’s visit to Ballary and Kadapa are the two primary conditions put forth for Reddy while granting bail. SC upheld the CBI argument and declined to modify the bail conditions.
