Bengaluru: State Bank of India (SBI), India’s largest commercial bank, contributed a sum of Rs. 18 lakh for the purchase of a van to ‘Adamya Chetana’, an NGO that runs an organization to provide mid–day meals for underprivileged school children. The key of the van was handed over by Shri Rajnish Kumar, Chairman, SBI to the Trustees of the NGO.
SBI through this initiative aims to provide a van facility for hassle free transportation of food to the school children in Bengaluru.
The event also witnessed Farooque Shahab, Chief General Manager – Bengaluru LHO, SBI and Dr. Tejaswini Ananth Kumar, Managing Trustee, Adamya Chetana NGO. On this occasion, the top management of the NGO were also present.
Speaking on the occasion Rajnish Kumar, said, “Through this initiative we aim to, provide good quality of food and nourishment to every child. As quality of nourishment is an integral part of developing mental and physical capabilities of children. By providing a special service van to deliver food for underprivileged children, the bank believes in providing all the necessary resources for child development and growth.”
