Bengaluru: After nearly four years of staying away from politics, Kannada Actress Pooja Gandhi rejoined the JD(S) on Saturday at the party office here.
Pooja who had embarked on a political career with JD(S) split ways with the party to join the Karnataka Janata Paksha, a party floated by B.S Yeddyurappa in 2012. Shortly a year later, the actress had switched loyalties and contested on a party ticket offered to her from Badavara Shramikara Raitara Congress Party(BSRCP) of Sriramulu in Raichur.
However, having suffered a defeat in the elections, Gandhi had chosen to stay away from politics.
As per sources, Pooja Gandhi is not planning to contest the polls but she would be seen campaigning for the party across the state.
With Pooja too joining the bandwagon of Sandalwood stars – Rachita Ram, Nikhil Kumarswamy and Shashi Kumar who will be campaigning for JD(S) it is to be seen if this ‘star power, helps JD(S) to come to power.
