Bengaluru: Sandalwood actress Amulya has entered into politics by joining the Janata Dal (Secular). Amulya, who recently married Jagadish, the son of former BBMP corporator Ramachandra, joined the JD(S) in the presence former prime minister H D Deve Gowda in Bengaluru on Tuesday April 17.
Ramachandra was a BJP corporator. All three of them (Ramachandra, Jagadish and Amulya) joined the JD(S). Several Sandalwood stars have joined politics in the recent years including Ramya, Rakshita, Bhavana, Tara, Jayamala and others.
Amulya is close to Ganesh’s wife Shilpa, who is an active BJP worker and is also an MLA ticket aspirant. It was at Shilpa’s house that Amulya and Jagadish are said to have first met. Now these friends, Amulya and Shilpa, will be in rival parties.
