Bengaluru: Following the extensive media reports and the intervention of the union government, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) decided to start examining the Kambala runners. On Sunday, a team of experts from SAI, Bengaluru visited the Paivalike Kambala near Kasaragod and recorded the entire proceedings.
SAI Southern Centre Senior Director Capt. Ajay Kumar Bahl and others spent two days in Paivalike. SAI coaches Kurian P Mathew and Harish were also present. The SAI authorities are planning to take the Kambala runners to its Center of Excellence for the trial and training purposes.
According to the sources, the Kambala runners are expected to take a final decision on participating in the trial at SAI centre after the end of this Kambala season.
