Bengaluru/Hassan: In a major development, the coalition government in the state has agreed before the Karnataka High Court to transfer IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri as the Deputy Commissioner of Hassan on Monday, June 25.

During the Assembly elections, Rohini Sindhuri had been transferred as the Employment and Training Department Commissioner in Bengaluru. Questioning the transfer before the end of her term, Rohini Sindhuri had filed a petition in the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) and subsequently in the High Court. During the trial, the Judicial Bench of the HC questioned the government advocate, “Do you want to transfer the officer again to Hassan?”

The Karnataka High Court disposed of her writ petition and set aside the judgement of the Bengaluru bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) which upheld her transfer as Commissioner of Employment and Training by the then Siddaramaiah-led state government on March 7, 2018.

During the Siddaramiah government, DC Rohini had questioned the working style of the then district in-charge minister A Manju. It led to a big controversy and the government even transferred her. However, former opposition party MLA at the time and present District In-Charge Minister H D Revanna supported the officer. and criticised A Manju for his callous attitude.
