Bengaluru: Revenue minister RV Deshpande commented that he has played a very long political inning and that he doesn’t have any desire to keep at it for much longer.
Speaking to reporters in Sirsi, he stated that at the time of the cabinet reshuffle, he would not be surprised or hurt even if he was dropped.
“The party high command will take the final decision in this regard,” he said.
“The decision to join hands with the JD(S) in the coalition government formation and the alliance in the by-election was taken by the party national leadership. The Congress will get tickets wherever the party is strong. In other places the JD(S) will field a candidate,” he said.
He also played down major irrigation minister DKShi’s statement about the minority religion tag to the Lingayat community, stating that it must be discussed in a broader sense.
