Retired Karnataka HC Justice AM Farook dies at age 75

Bengaluru: Retired Karnataka High Court judge, Justice A M Farooq, breathed his last on Wednesday morning in Bengaluru. He was 75-year-old. He was a judge in the High Court from 1995 till his retirement.

Farooq studied law at the Renukacharya Law College, Bengaluru and began his career as a lawyer in 1968 as part of the Karnataka Lawyers’ Association, where he served for 45 years. He also serves as the Chairman of the Karnataka Judicial Academy till his retirement. He was a renowned lawyer in the criminal, civil and constitutional fields.

He also served as the president of the Karnataka State Appellate Tribuna between 2008 and 2013.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters and two sons.
