Bengaluru: In the ongoing debate in the Karnataka Assembly ahead of the crucial trust vote, minister D K Shivakumar said that it wasn’t the BJP, but the rebel MLAs who back-stabbed him.
Addressing the House, the Congress leader said, “I was not back-stabbed by the BJP leaders, but the rebels MLAs in Mumbai. They will do the same to you. They cannot be ministers.”
Regarding his trip to Mumbai, DKShi clarified that he went to Mumbai to speak to the rebel MLAs. “I spoke to one of the MLAs and he asked me to come and take him away,” he said.
Then, appealing to the Speaker, the minister asked that the MLAs be asked to appear before the House and cast their votes in the confidence motion.
“Couldn’t we have locked them up? No, because we have trust in them. Bring them here and let them vote against this government,” he said.
