Bengaluru: On Saturday, rebel minister M T B Nagaraj, who tendered his resignation, got a surprise visitor at 5 AM at his residence in Hoskote town. It was none other than irrigation minister D K Shivakumar.
DKShi was at M T B Nagaraj’s door in the wee hours of Saturday to request the latter to withdraw his resignation in order to save the Congress-JD(S) coalition government.
Nagaraj was serving as the housing minister in the H D Kumaraswamy-led state coalition government. He tendered his resignation from his post as MLA citing that funds were not being allocated to his department by the state government.
According to sources, DKShi assured Nagaraj that all his grievances would be addressed and that an increased amount of funds would be allocated to his department.
Nagaraj, however, is said to have declined to give any assurance and stated that he has already made his decision.
