Bengaluru: The raid on KPCC Chief DK Shivakumar, by the CBI is being billed off as BJP’s way of settling scores.
Close on the heels of Congress leaders calling it a ‘political vendetta’, the BJP leaders have gone on justification-mode.
Deputy CM Ashwath Narayan, speaking about the same, said that the raid was not politically-motivated.
“He is already facing the IT and the ED cases. The CBI raid may be only a continuation of the ongoing probe against him. There is no need to give political angle to this development,” said the DCM adding that DKShi himself has said that he wants the truth to be out and this his chance to prove that he is innocent.
Senior BJP leader and Minister KS Eshwarappa too has said that the raid was not political at all and that DK Shi must go for probe and come out clean like ‘Sita’.
“Raid on DKShi’s house is not new. He was raided even in the past and as per reports ‘hawala’ money was seized from his house. Today’s raid is connected to the previous case that was handled by the ED and the IT departments,” he said adding that he is shocked by the double standards of the Congress leaders, who are calling the raid on DK Shi as politically motivated.
“When BS Yediyurappa was under radar, these Congress leaders had said one reaps what he sows,” said KSE.
BJP National General Secretary CT Ravi too took potshots at DK Shi indirectly through a tweet, which read: “Maadidunno Maharaya”, which means ‘You reap what you sow’.
It may be recalled that in an early morning operation, at least 14 properties belonging to DKShi and his brother DK Suresh were raided by 60 CBI sleuths, in connection to an alleged corruption case.
