Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwara has informed that All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi will not be contesting in the Lok Sabha elections from the state.
It can be recalled that the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) had invited RaGa to contest from any of the Lok Sabha constituencies of the state. It was speculated that the party supremo would consider the request.
However, Dr Parameshwara has clarified that RaGa will not be contesting from the state. “He is not contesting as he needs to concentrate on an all-India campaign,” the DCM said in New Delhi.
