Bengaluru: The Rajarajeshwarinagar police have invoked Karnataka Control of Organised Crime Act (KCOCA) against all the 11 arrested who are accused in the murder of journalist, activist Gauri Lankesh.
According to the police, to invoke KCOCA, at least two cases must be registered against the accused. “Cases against all of them are registered for hatching a conspiracy to kill rationalist K S Bhagawan also. So now all of them are booked under KCOCA,” said police.
By invoking KCOCA, the police can have the liberty of carrying out an investigation without following any procedures like mandatory appearance in the court etc.
