Bangalore: For the first time in the recent years, the state Pre University Board wants all the government Pre University (PU) colleges to ensure highest admission through an awareness drive.
According to a circular issued by Shikha, Director, PU Board, SSLC examination results are expected to be announced in the second week of May. “It is the responsibility of all of us to ensure that those who clear the SSLC examination will not discontinue their education,” she has informed in a circular sent to all the PU college principals in this regard.
According to the circular, all the PU college principals are directed to collect the contact information of all the students who have passed in the SSLC examination in their area by visiting the individual high schools. Principals are directed to contact all the parents of these students and inform about the facilities available in the college.
As per the circular every college can spend upto Rs 1,000 for the awareness drive via various media including whatsApp, Facebook, local cable networks etc. Principals are directed to hold awareness drive over the facilities available in the college, talented lecturers, low fee, communication classes etc.
According to an officer from the state PU board, all the DDPIs have been instructed to appoint a nodal officer at every taluk to ensure highest admission in all the government-run PU colleges.
