Bengaluru: This year, the private school administration has decided to charge a 100 percent fee. The State Government had reduced the charge by 30% last year, citing Covid-19 as the reason.
According to D. Shashikumar of the Associated Managements of Primary and Secondary Schools (KAMS), the government order that reduced the charge by 30% last year is only valid for one year. “This year, all students will be charged the 2019-20 fee.”
This is expected to spark another spat between parents and schools, as parents want 30 percent fee reduction order to be maintained this year as well, due to the current Covid-19 pandemic.
Surprisingly, the State Government did not include the fee structure in its recent notification for the new academic year. This has resulted in a confusion.
