Bengaluru: The transfer process for primary and secondary school teachers in Karnataka will begin on Tuesday. According to the department of public instruction, the schedule for the transfers will be done through the Shikshanamitra app.

They will be able to transfers within the district where they were previously employed or the adjoining taluk of their choice, if there are vacancies available.
Transfer of teachers in specified roles/technical posts will be held in the second stage.
In the third stage, mutual transfers will be held and teachers who have five years left till their retirement, or at least seven years of service, will be eligible for these transfers.
Till last year, zonal transfers were practised. Now, request transfers within the district will be for 7 per cent of the teachers and 2 per cent for within the zone.
To help provide teachers with infomation regarding the transfers, a transfer cell has been set up with nodal officers in the district deputy director’s office.
Meanwhile, those teachers who have been diagnosed with serious illnesses, disabled or are single parents have been exempted from the transfers
