Pontiffs to stage stir if govt fails to take call on anti-superstition bill

Bengaluru: Progressive pontiffs forum have given the state government a deadline upto Wednesday 4 pm to take a decisive decision on the implementation of the anti-superstition bill.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the forum held on Tuesday in the city. The meeting was attended by former judges including Justice Gopal Gowda, Justice Nagamohan Das, freedom fighter HS Doreswamy, rational KS Bhagavan, Veerabhadra Channamalla Swamiji and others.

As per the decision taken in the meeting, state government must convene a special session of both the houses of the state legislature to pass the bill. Meeting also opposed the diluted bill which excludes Edesnana, Pankthi Bheda etc.

Meeting also urged the state government to bring astrology and vastu4 under the ambit of consumer law.

Meanwhile, if the state government fails to take a final decision on the fate of the bill within the given deadline an indefinite period protest will be held,” said Veerabhadra Channamalla Swamiji.
