Police seize 25 kg cannabis, nab UP, Bihar and Kerala residents

Bengaluru: The Mico Layout police seized 22.35 kg cannabis and a small quantity of cannabis resin in 2 separate raids and arrested residents of UP, Bihar and Kerala involved in the illegal trade.

In the first raid, the police seized a consignment of 7.25 kgs of cannabis from 5 people, when they were trying to sell the same near Madiwala Lake.

The arrested persons include Rahul Kumar Yadav (24), Ram Dheen Yadav (28) and Shyam Charan Yadav (21), all residents of Bihar. Danesh (23) and Shabbu B N (23), both residents of Uttar Pradesh too were nabbed by the police in connection with the case. Rahul Kumar Yadav used to procure cannabis from Dilip, a resident of Singasandra and repack the same in small sachets to sell it further through petty shop network, police sources revealed.

In the second incident, police nabbed Mohammed Ashraf alias Abdul Aziz (25), Rajesh P alias Rajan (24), both residents of Kanndipuram village of Kannur district in Kerala. They seized cannabis weighing 15.1 kg and a separate packet of cannabis resin weighing 100 grams from the duo.

Mohammed Ashraf used to procure cannabis from Vishakapatnam and repack them in small sachets and sell it to college students and techies in the city, police said.

City Police Commissioner and Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP-West) complimented the Mico Layout police team on their success.
